A key-wound 18k pocket watch, 1.5 inches in diameter (not including
the stem), no manufacturer's name. Stamped on the inside of the back
cover is a stylized "K" over an "18" (as I read it) in a square, below
and left of that a "P" inside an octagon, and to the right an
indistinguishable mark. Below this is the serial number, 14963.
Inside the front cover is nothing but the last two digits of the
serial number, 63. The serial number on the face matches that on the
case. The stem (crown?) is stamped "18K".
Any information about the history or context of this watch, or help
dating it, would be very welcome - thanks! chd at chud-dot-net.
