Basic Pizza Sauce

This is based more or less on what I remember doing years ago when I worked in a pizza place. I'm sure it's not exactly the same recipe we used there, but it's in the general ball park.

1 can (29 oz size) tomato puree, or ground tomatoes
2.5 cups water
4 t kosher salt
1 T sugar
2 T garlic powder
2 T oregano
2 T basil
2 t fresh ground black pepper

Mix everything until smooth. No cooking required. Of course you can juggle the spices to taste. Makes a lot.
